Deadly Blizzard Kills Two in Maryland, Cripples Northeast
The Northeast US was hit by a massive winter blizzard, which killed two people in Maryland and broke many historic weather records. This storm struck the area on Monday and Rhode Island recorded 37 inches of snow and New York city recorded 20 inches of snow. Due to this storm, hundreds and thousands of people were stranded without electricity, and thousands of flights were cancelled at New York’s JFK and Boston’s Logan Airports. Although New York City’s schools opened today, many areas remain closed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as residents continue to dig out from under the snow.
